The Origin of the Wixárika Mask

Its birth is linked to ritual life; the masks represent the Gods, but these are deities associated with mestizos, a syncretism resulting from the conquest but with a rather profound meaning since they usually represent symbolic figures from the worldview and mythology of their culture, such as animals, deities, natural elements, and all of them reflect the spiritual connection with nature itself and the Universe.
